Jax took my car into the shop this morning. We're very much hoping that whatever the issue is it's a pretty quick and fairly cheap fix. I mean, we have the money to fix whatever it is, but I just want it to not be too much. She may be taking the car with her to Oklahoma this weekend and I'm taking it to Omaha on Sunday, so it needed to be fixed. Just one of the joys about being a car owner I guess. *sigh* Things here are going okay. It's a bit disappointing because it doesn't look like we'll get moved this week but it's okay, one thing at a time you know? Jax has to go on her trip and there's not a whole lot I can do in that regard while she's gone. We have other priorities right now with the money, such as bills and fixing cars and paying employees. I completely understand that. It still sucks but we're just acting grown-up!!! It would be so easy to just ditch the bills and everybody else and go on a shopping spree and stuff and completely blow off the other priorities. But we're two grown adults (well, most of the time) and that is just the way it has to be. At least we're not like the neighbors (the ones upstairs) who literally piss through their money like the world is going to end tomorrow. She's paying rent off her school loans so all they have to do is pay the household bills. It probably wasn't a great idea that they went and spent $80 on tongue piercings for the both of them, only to turn around a few days later and he was fired from his job. Then she ended up taking out her piercing anyway because she hated it and her tongue swelled up and all of that. So it was money just basically pissed away. They've spent so much money on pets and cages and food and toys and they've given away some of the pets they bought (like the 2 parakeets that we now have). I don't understand the mentality, but I guess I probably would have been the same way when I was 20, except that I was married and I had to pitch in and pay household bills and whatnot. Even in high school when I could have pissed away my money I didn't because I needed it for car payments, car insurance, gas, clothes, and other misc stuff I had to be responsible for. I guess if I win the lottery then I'll piss away some money. But until then, my money is pretty much allocated from the day I get paid. Yeah, I'd love to just go buy whatever shit I wanted, but there are a lot of people that want my money before I even get to have it. Once again, the joy of being a grown ass adult with a conscience and wanting to make sure that people I owe money to get paid back. What are ya gonna do? Jax is so afraid I"m going to kill the birds while she is gone for those few days. I do have to laugh about it. THey are SO EASY AND CHEAP to take care of, I won't have any problems. If one of them keels over it won't be my doing, trust me. They are so spoiled, fresh water 24/7 and lots of food and we even got this treat thingie we hung from the cage that they eat. It's like a stick that has lots of nuts and seeds on it that they peck off and eat. It's the equivalency of someone giving us a Snickers. Although I can say that I'd eat that thing much faster than they are eating this. They are spoiled rotten. And they are parakeets. But they are fun as hell. Unless you are trying to watch TV and they are squawking like hell at each other than it's a bit annoying but I have to say I am barely annoyed by them. I'm way more annoyed by my kid more so than those birds. Speaking of my kid, she was shoved by a boy at school yesterday and tripped over her chair and fell on the floor, along with the books on her desk. She was guarding Abby's chair because the guy takes her chair all the time. So he pranced into the room and tried to take it. Cass told him no and they got into a little tiff about it and it ended with him shoving her, causing her to trip over her chair and upset the books on her desk. She said she wasn't hurt at all but I don't care. After class was over she went up to her math teacher and asked him if he saw that and he said no. So she proceeded to tell him what happened and he said that was the second time he had done something like that yesterday. So who knows what will come out of it. Not sure if I should call up to the school and express my displeasure in the situation or assume it will be handled. Heck, I don't know. Guess I'll have to think on it. Guess the gal who interviewed me last week called my supervisor to get a reference. My boss told me it was all very positive and that she's dying to find out whether I got the job or not. I told her I'd let her know when I find out which won't be till next week. Doesn't it seem odd that my boss not only knows all about my job interview but is also excited for me as well? It's not really odd for me, given that she's also a very good friend of mine and that she's supporting me fully on my steps toward a new career. If she isn't one cool boss, I don't know who is. past and future A few hours my ass! - 2007-05-07
Archives Cast Rings 101 things about me about me
I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY! Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
