The biggest news by far is I got the job!!! I'm very excited and of course nervous as hell to start this job. This is a pretty coveted position. It's on the Maternal/Child unit. I'll be helping take care of moms and babies! I'll also do a few stints in the Birthing Center, the nursery and Pediatrics. I'm beyond thrilled. My last day at my old shitty job is next Friday, November 3rd. Then I start on Monday November 6th!!!! I couldn't be more excited. Well, I could be, then I'd probably pee my pants. Also on the homefront with my dad. He had an office visit yesterday with his brand new Cardiologist. They set him up for an angiogram at the hospital yesterday at 2:00. They found the blockage and put up a stent to keep it open. They kept him overnight. I called last night and he sounded good. He was tired and in a little pain but he was okay. My step-mom called me at 8:00 this morning to let me know that one of his cardiac enzymes was still a bit higher than they wanted to see so they are keeping him another day. Dad didn't sleep at all last night so he's very tired and just wants to sleep today. I had asked her if he wanted visitors and she really didn't think that was a good idea. So I'll stay here I guess. I'm just glad he came though. I would be devastated if anything happened to my dad. We're pretty close and I love him a lot and I want him around for much longer. In between checking up on dad, I went with Karen and Jada to Haunted Hollow. We do it every year. It's basically a real chalk mine. But this time of year they do it up like a haunted house and do scary guided tours through it. It's really not that scary but lots of fun. We always have a great time and last night was no exception. Today is the Husker vs OSU game and I couldn't be more excited. We're gonna kick their asses. (I hope!) Other than that, I'm enjoying my 3 day weekend and having a great time!!! past and future A few hours my ass! - 2007-05-07

I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
