After losing the Husker game in a HUGE UPSET on Saturday I wasn't in a great mood but I recovered quickly. Saturday night Diane, Rebecca and I grilled hamburgers on the grill and sat down and watched an episode of "Ghost Hunters". That show scared the shit out of me. I watch the others and do fine but for some reason this one got me. So after everyone left I was a bit freaked out, I'll be honest. I guess D.B. approached Diane that night and asked a ton of questions about me and Jax and why we did this or that. She said how much she missed us (complete BS I'm sure) and how she has lost most all of her friends because her husband is such an asshole. And he's lost friends because of it as well. NO DUH! Maybe she'll realize one of these days that it's possible that maybe everybody is right and HE REALLY IS AN ASSHOLE! But she has to make that decision on her own. He came home drunk Saturday night (big, big surprise there) and they started in. He did the usual...called her a whore, slut, and a cunt. I know some might gasp at reading this but it's like a weekly occurence. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's daily, but it's at least once a week, if not more. I'm just so tired of hearing it. And I wish she'd get tired of hearing that stuff but obviously she welcomes it. Or else she wouldn't be with him. Blah. Enough about that. That situation won't ever change and she won't be our friend ever again so there's really no reason to rehash it all. Yesterday at 5:00 freaking A.M. my cell phone rings and wakes me from a dead sleep. It was the ER and they needed a report typed. They tried other numbers and nobody answered (geez, I wonder why!). So I got up, walked to my desk half asleep and typed the report. By the time I got back to bed it was after 5:30 and it took forever to get back to sleep. Oh yay. So I got up at 9:00 and took a shower and got my things ready. I proceeded over to Diane and Rebecca's apartment. Why? We're going to go to Lincoln and get on the set of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition! We picked up Cass and took off. We got to the Lancaster Events Center and got on the shuttle bus that took us right down to the set. It was so fun!!!!!!! Although there is A LOT of downtime it was fun. Yesterday morning was "demo day" so as far as the site there wasn't a whole lot going on besides digging the foundation and such. We did have have some GREAT moments though. Not long after getting there we saw Ty come out of the RV. He stood there for a while and did wave to the crowd. He then got in a cop car and took off. We never did see him again. But it was cool, we caught a glimpse. Some of the other designers though were much nicer to the crowd. Here's the newest designer, John Littlefield out in the crowd signing autographs and talking to us common folk.
Here's John and Cass. He was really really fun.
But by far the funnest part of the whole day was THIS moment.
I absolutely LOVE Paulie!! He's definitely one of my favorite. We all freaked out when he came out of the RV and went to the site to tape a segment. He came back and stopped and talked to the crowd. If you can believe it, he actually looks better in person! I don't know, he looks all scruffy on TV but I was surprised he had super nice looking skin. And man the dude can rock the jeans! He had some really stylish, expensive jeans on with his funny hard hat. Anyway, that was by far the funnest moment and made it all worth it to be there. Not long after meeting Paulie, Preston went to get something out of a production trailer. While he didn't come into the crowd, he did turn around and wave to us. I wish I would have gotten a picture far away of him and Ty but I didn't. It was nice of him to wave but it would have been NICER for him to have come over to the crowd. Damn you designers! ha ha ha So yeah, watch for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that takes place in Nebraska sometime soon. And then remember I was there!!!! That's about all I have. It's my last official work week and I couldn't be happier. I'm SO OVER this job. And don't be surprised if I don't work very hard this week ha ha ha. Happy Monday everyone. past and future A few hours my ass! - 2007-05-07
Archives Cast Rings 101 things about me about me
I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY! Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
