 Work today was lovely. It was just the right amount of busy. Not too swamped but there wasn't a whole lot of sitting around either. In fact, in the afternoon I had time to take down most of the Christmas decorations. By 3:30 I had done all the damage I was going to do there today. We had already discharged 4 people and were working on a fifth so that got us down pretty low. Nobody on my shift coming in and having babies so that might not make tomorrow any fun unless some come in and deliver before tomorrow at 6 AM. I swear if I have to float tomorrow I'm going to be pissed. But we'll see. Today was time and a half pay since it was a holiday. I'll take it! So I got off about 3:45 since I had nothing else to do. That's my kind of day! And tonight my old boss asked me if I'd be interested in taking a pool position in the dept I just left. Since I only get 70-72 hours a pay period I told her I'd be very interested if she could get that arranged. She really doesn't know but she said she'd sure try. That will really help! Plus I'm also supposed to start my other job after my physical on the 12th of January (my birthday BTW). So let's count that up....that would be 3 jobs. Plus school. Yeah, I'm apparently wanting to kill myself with too much. But at this point, the money is needed and I'll do whatever I have to do to stay afloat. Besides, I've worked 3 jobs before. And this time I know it'll be much easier than it was back then because now I have help. And that's about all I have for this evening. I plan on it being a nice quiet evening and maybe I'll actually get some sleep tonight, we shall see. Hope everybody had a wonderful New Years and I hope nobody is hung over. I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY! Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
