Cass is still sick. She was up much of the night but didn't wake me up. I wished she would have though. When I got up at 7:00 to check on her she was burning up. She said she had felt bad since 3:00 and I asked her why she didn't wake me up. Regardless, I took her temp and it was 102.2. She was looking like she had been run over by a mack truck. I gave her a Tylenol then and there and by 7:45 it had gone down a bit. I finally decided I was NOT going to wait until the clinic started answering their phones at 9:00 to get her in to be seen. So we promptly ran her over to the hospital to be checked out. Her temp had gone down to 99.9. At one point she was sitting up on the bed and started leaning a bit, I think sitting up made her a bit dizzy. The doctor came in and checked over all the routine things and sent us on our way with a prescription for antibiotics. I called her father when we got home and he started asking a million questions. He was angry that they didn't do a nasal swab and check for influenza. I personally don't think it was influenza but then again, who am I? He's a respiratory therapist and sees very sick people all day long so he's always thinking everybody in his family has the worst of it. Regardless, I think she's going to survive. I think it'll just be a few more days of being down and then she'll get back up and be okay. It's winter, people are bound to get sick. The birds over the last few days have been annoying as hell. 95% of the time they are quiet and nice to have around but man, these last few days they've been squawking like nobody's business. Jax has even separated them to no avail. This morning she let them both out and washed down their cage real good and got them fresh food and water and so far *crosses fingers* they've been quiet. I don't know what gets into those two but some days they are just bitchy. I guess they really ARE like people. That is the monotony of my day. I really need to get a few good hours of studying in today and hopefully have a quiet evening. It's weird but I don't like it when my routine is out of whack. But I guess you make plans and then life happens right? Is it spring yet? I've had enough of this flippin' snow already. past and future A few hours my ass! - 2007-05-07
Archives Cast Rings 101 things about me about me
I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY! Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
