Last night Jax and I had a wonderful and VERY expensive steak dinner at a local steak house here. I don't think I've ever truly shared my love of meat and potatoes. I'm sure it's because I'm from the midwest, where that is what we are raised on and is the sole income of many of our population. However, my love of meat and potatoes has me looking less than model perfect, but hey, you can't have it ALL right? After consuming a very fabulous and expensive sirloin along with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus (which I tried for the first time and they aren't that bad!) they came out with a complimentary (complimentary my ass, I paid almost $50 for the dinner) chocolate dipped strawberry. And I must mention I've never had a chocoloate dipped strawberry before. And it was GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. I may have to dip my own sometime, when they are in season of course. Then we came home where I proceeded to study for the rest of the evening until 11:00 PM. It was a very laid back and enjoyable Valentine's Day, minus all the studying, but I didn't have a choice. So I go to class today and we sit there for an hour listening to her lecture on a chapter that we are going to test on TODAY. That's right, she's now lecturing on material that we have to take a test on immediately following. But with the aid of a really good study outline I received the week before, I wasn't all that worried. I got my test back from last week and I got a 99 so I was hap-hap-happy with that. I'm finally comfortable in this class. I know what's expected on the tests and I know about how much I have to study (like 5-8 hours). So my friend Shannon and I got our outlines for our papers back (we were the only ones who turned them in ON TIME) and I got a 90 on mine and she said I could go ahead and start writing my paper. Shannon however had to go outside of the classroom and have a chat with her about her outline, apparently she didn't do it right and it was crap. Come to find out, as I'm waiting for my ride, Shannon comes up to me and tells me she paid for her paper on duenow.com. I didn't even know this site existed! I wanted to tell her to GET A REFUND because obviously the paper she paid for was shit. She said she'll just "revise" it but she's turning it in. So a word to the wise...or the dumbasses who are too lazy to take the time to write something original....be careful what kind of paper you get because it could turn out to be shit and then you're no better off than you were had you just written it. I DO NOT condone this type of behavior because even IF you download a paper and don't have to write it yourself, it's still not worth it. So shame on you. Naughty girl. If you aren't willing to work at all while in college, why are you there? Are you gonna download somebody off the internet to do your clinicals and get graded on that? Joey's tip of the day. Do the work. It'll help you in the long run. *jumps of soapbox* Tomorrow I start my "new" intermittent job. Couldn't start last week because I was half-dead and spewing more mucus than came out of the closet on "Poltergeist" that cheesy movie from the 80s. So tomorrow is round 2 of trying to get this done. And my sister will be working with me which is a bit weird but I'll get over it. I'm not above having her train me on certain things, that's her domain and she knows how things need to be ran. So go sissy. I can say with certainty that I am extremely disheartened and disappointed that I have to work on Sunday and that I will have to miss a John Mayer concert on Sunday night. Had I not had to work, I would have been ALL OVER that shit. I have been a super fan of John Mayer for 5 years now. While it sucks, I will get over myself and find the courage to go on. And I must end this now because I'm finding much excitement in watching Jax chase the birds around the living room and Charming flying away from her. If you want a good workout, just get two parakeets. They'll keep you on wild goose chases all the live-long day. past and future A few hours my ass! - 2007-05-07
Archives Cast Rings 101 things about me about me
I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY! Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
