My aunt was discharged today and I was there for that, waited until the people who take care of her came and got her. So I've spent WAY too much time at the hospital this weekend with working and helping take care of my aunt. Some shit has gone down lately that is frustrating and shocking and some hard decisions may need to be made but either way, things will be fine. So Jax and I went to pick up Cass from school today and we noticed the way they let kids out was different. Kids had to stay in the building until they saw their ride and then they had to go out one by one to the car, or have their parents come and get them at the door. I knew something was up. I heard a teacher say there was a lockdown. So we waited. Then I heard another parent say that a state trooper was shot and the guy was still at-large so all the schools are on lockdown. Well fricken great. About 15 minutes ago the local news broke in and said they have a parameter marked off on the east side of town and cops are going door to door to look for the suspect(s). Not sure at this time if it's more than one. There are helicopters flying and S.W.A.T teams out there. All in OUR town? We're small town Nebraska for goodness sakes! Well, not really small town, the population is probably 45,000 or so, but still small town by many standards. So now we're waiting for the 5:00 news to see what's up exactly. Of course I get on the horn with my step-dad who is a retired cop and very good friends with many cops on the force here and one of his best friends is the retired police chief. And he has like 832 scanners...one he even has on his belt loop so I knew he'd be in the know about it all. Some details are fuzzy but he knew one trooper was shot in the leg and was unsure of the injuries of the other. It's not like he can call of any his friends and find out, they're busy looking for the asshole! So I guess I'll wait for the news to see what's going on and hopefully they'll find this scumbag soon. Crazy town I tell ya! Other than those things, life is just chuggin along one day at a time. Sometimes I feel like time just crawls by when I want it to run. But that's how it goes I guess. There's just so many things I want to be over with already but it is what it is. But it's all good because we got our flip flops out for the season and we've been wearing them off and on for the past week! Seriously, we have like 8 pairs of flip flops. That makes me happy! past and future A few hours my ass! - 2007-05-07
Archives Cast Rings 101 things about me about me
I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY! Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother. Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
