Day off? That wasn't no stinkin day off! 2007-04-09 9:44 p.m. My day off consisted of spending six hours doing an assignment for English Comp. Is that what you call a day off? NO! But I'm in the last month of my classes, I'm not going to bitch.

We ran up to Shaun and Laura's tonight so that she could thin the hell out of my hair. I try to call and get appointments with her at school but that girl is BOOKED. She's good too and that helps. So we're resigned to having her cut our hair at home. Which, when you think about it, is really a better deal. She cut it a few weeks ago but didn't have her thinning shears with her. She took a shitload of hair off. Her floor was covered with my fluffy hair. It feels so much better now. The lame part is the fact that even after she took off half my head, you still can't tell the difference. I HAVE THAT MUCH HAIR.

My hair has been such a sore subject with me for years. It's too thick to do cut styles. I don't want it super short. It was perfect for the 80s. Lots of natural curl and let's face it, the 80s was all about the big hair. And I had big ass 80s hair and bangs halfway to the ceiling. I had good hair back then. Now it's like...what? It has to be straight and sorta flat? Shit I can't do that. When hairstyles from "Flashdance" come back, I'm in baby!!!!

I could take the time each and every day to flat iron the mess but who is gonna take an hour every day to fix their hair? Not me! I have to be to work at 6 AM. I am going to run around like a freak and sweat. Yes, I sweat. Because I'm in those rooms moving furniture, climbing over people and helping lift and roll people. It's not exactly the job for you if you don't like feeling "not fresh" at the end of the day. When I come home I smell like sweat and hospital. Plain and simple. Now, if I could shower on my lunch break then maybe that would change. It wouldn't be that way if I was sitting on my ass drinking coffee and gossiping like half the nurses. But hey, that's not me. I work my ass off and always will.

I may not smell as fresh as a rose at 6:30 but god dammit I can write an annotated bibliography and a formal outline!!!!

PROFILE

I am a 34-year-old college student, mom, friend and all around sarcastic and fun loving person. I'm going to school to be a nurse. I recently quit a high paying job from home to get back into the hospital setting and to get my feet wet in nursing. I work on the Maternal Child Unit which includes the birthing center, perinatal care and Pediatrics. I LOVE IT! These last few years have been all about changes in my life. Although they have required great sacrifice, I know it will be worth it when I'm through. I have a great life and great family and friends and occasionally bitch about my white trash neighbors. Mostly here you will find rants and raves about various people, places, and circumstances. ENJOY!

Loves: Nursing, chocolate, my daughter, family and friends, diet coke, Grey's Anatomy (DUH!), being out of my front patio in the summertime with my neighbors, babies, US Weekly magazine, reality TV, being smart and being a mother.
Hates: Chemistry, online cyberstalkers who have no life but to be online 24/7 causing drama, my white trash neighbors, pepporoni pizza, mice, bugs, when it's too hot outside and I get sweaty, seafood, backstabbing people, liars, crooks, and when people play the "victim" and whine 24/7.
